Quality Auditor / Fiber and Coax OSP Construction

If you’re a hands-on telecom professional who enjoys being in the field rather than sitting behind a desk all day, this is a great opportunity to use your construction and network knowledge in a quality-focused role. You’ll work with contractors and network teams, see a wide variety of construction projects, and have the autonomy to manage your assigned audits from inspection through closeout.
Required Skills & Experience
- Coax and fiber telecommunications construction experience are a must
- Construction quality inspection or auditing experience
- Ability to read and interpret telecommunications design prints
- Basic computer skills
- Experience using Microsoft applications
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple assigned audits
- Willingness to travel as needed
- Reliable transportation
Desired Skills & Experience
- Network Maintenance Technician experience
- Experience with Smartsheet
- Experience with Microsoft Teams
- Experience inspecting nodes, amplifiers, power supplies, fiber taps, and enclosures
- Experience working directly with construction contractors or business partners
What You Will Be Doing
- Perform construction quality audits on coax and fiber infrastructure
- Inspect nodes, amplifiers, power supplies, fiber taps, enclosures, and related network equipment
- Verify construction follows approved designs, specifications, and applicable standards
- Review and document audit findings and required rework
- Verify rework and repairs have been completed correctly and in a timely manner
- Serve as the primary day-to-day field interface with contractors
- Coordinate with Regional Network Technicians and other project stakeholders
- Verify new or upgraded power supplies are installed and operational prior to cutover
- Update job documentation and maps for path verification and quality control
- Maintain accurate project, audit, production, material, and labor records
- Generate construction and project reports
- Assist with troubleshooting and clearing inspected jobs
- Support safety compliance through field inspections and worksite visits

Daily Responsibilities
- Manage assigned audits, which may include one or multiple locations
- Conduct field inspections and document findings
- Review completed construction against designs and standards
- Identify deficiencies and coordinate required corrections
- Verify audit rework and repairs
- Complete documentation and closeout activities
- Update Smartsheet and other required systems
- Communicate with contractors and business partners regarding inspected work
- Participate in Teams calls and troubleshoot issues as needed
- Remain available Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM by phone to help troubleshoot or clear inspected jobs
Schedule & Travel
- Approximately 80% field / 20% computer and administrative work
- Must be willing to travel as needed with occasional requirement for overnight stays
